The Green Grounds Certification, which uplifts campuses transitioning to organic, chemical-free land care, typically requires an application fee of $1,000 and a reapplication fee of $500. Re:wild Your Campus recognizes that these expenses can create an obstacle for some institutions. This new program will waive this fee for qualified institutions, ensuring that no school is held back from participating due to financial constraints.
Re: wild Your Campus is committed to fostering a wide-reaching network of schools dedicated to protecting student and environmental health through the maintenance of sustainable grounds. We believe cost should not be a barrier to achieving this goal. Please review the following list of alternative funding suggestions before applying for a fee waiver:
Internal/cross-departmental funding: Approach related or adjacent departments with larger discretionary budgets to ask for contributions.
External funding/grant programs: Apply for a local, state, or national grant related to sustainability, climate action, or campus improvements.
Fundraising: Organize a campus-wide fundraiser. Tap into alumni networks, parents, and the surrounding local community that benefits from the college campus.
Student-Led Initiatives: Find a student to champion the effort who is able to tap into funds available for students.
