Our film is out!

We are so excited to announce the premiere of Grassroots: The Re:wild Your Campus Story, a short film by Palmer Morse and Joshua Izenberg. It follows the movement across Grinnell College, Drexel University, and UCLA, and traces it all the way back to where it began: UC Berkeley, where co-founder Mackenzie Feldman launched Herbicide Free Cal as a student athlete in 2017.

This film carries years of work, relationship building, memories, challenges, and a belief in doing things differently. It’s a reflection of the many students, groundskeepers, and communities who made this movement possible. Thank you to our executive producers Joel David Moore and Mark Bittman. Re:wild Your Campus began with two UC Berkeley students who refused to accept toxic pesticides as part of campus life. What started as a simple request to stop spraying near their volleyball court grew into a powerful campaign that started a movement.
